SSC Job Notification | Good news for those who are preparing for Govt Jobs. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a notification for filling up the posts in various departments of the center with inter qualification. It has issued an advertisement in the name of ‘Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination-2024’ to fill the posts of Lower Divisional Clerk, Junior Secretariat Assistant Data Entry Operator in various central government institutions, ministries and other government offices across the country. A total of 3,712 posts are being filled. Eligible candidates can apply online till May 7. Tier 1 exam is likely to be conducted in June/July.
Some highlights of the notification..
Eligibility.. Candidates applying for these posts must have passed Inter or equivalent courses. Candidates who have passed Inter by August 1, 2024 can also apply. For the posts of data entry operator in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Food and Civil Supplies and Culture Department, it has been stipulated that Maths should be a subject with Science group in Inter.

Application Fee: General category candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs.100/-. Women, SC/STs and disabled persons do not have to pay.
Age Limit: Age between 18-27 years as on 1st August 2024 are eligible for these jobs. Relaxation has been given for five years for SC and ST, three years for OBCs and 10-15 years for disabled persons.
Salaries are as follows:
- Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) posts are paid at the rate of Rs.19,900- Rs.63,200 under Pay Level-2.
- Pay Level-4 (Rs.25,500-81,100) for Data Entry Operator (DEO);
- Pay Level-5 (Rs.29,200-92,300);
- Pay Level-4 (Rs.25,500-81,100) for Data Entry Operator, Grade ‘A’ Posts Wages are paid.
Selection Process: The primary selection of candidates will be based on the marks obtained in Tier-1 and Tier-2 Online Examinations. After that they will conduct computer test or typing test in the third stages depending on the post they have applied for. It is just an eligibility test. Selection for jobs will be done after examination of certificates and medical examination.

Tentative vacancies: There are approx. 3712 vacancies. However, firm number of vacancies will be determined in due course. Updated vacancies, if any, along with post-wise & category-wise vacancies will be made available on the website of the Commission (https://ssc.gov.in> Candidate’s Corner> Tentative Vacancy) in due course. Candidates may note that State-wise/ Zone-wise vacancies are not collected by the Commission.
How to apply:
All the candidates who wish to apply in response to this Notice and have not generated their One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new website (https://ssc.gov.in) will be required to do so as the earlier OTR generated on the old website (https://ssc.nic.in) will not be functional for the new website. Subsequent to OTR, the candidates can proceed to fill the application for the examination. Once an OTR has been generated on the new website, it will continue to remain valid for all the examinations to be applied for on the new website. The detailed instructions for OTR are given in Annexure-III to this Notice.
